PolyAPT hosts the Invizo 6000 Atom Probe Tomograph. The Invizo 6000 is an ultra wide field of view tomograph that typically images more than 90% of the volume of the sample. This allows for a field of view of at least 200 nm on almost all materials. Samples are typically prepared using a FIB/SEM Dual Beam tool to transfer a piece of the material under investigation to the top of a tungsten wire and then sharpen it into a tip with a radius of less than 150 nm.
